When I was pregnant with my oldest (my son), I wanted anything and everything that I could think of when you have a baby. All the bibs, binky styles, mittens and socks, electronics and clothes! I scoured every list on the internet. I watched countless YouTube videos since this was all before TikTok was a thing. I listened to anyone that would give me advice on what things I would need for my baby, and myself for that matter.
Now, after having two babies of my own, I’ve learned a thing or two about what I actually want and know I will use. The principle I follow when picking out gifts for parents, new or seasoned, is this: practicality. Are the items you’re picking things that you would reach for? If you’re a parent you know the top 5 things in your head that you couldn’t leave the house without, that your baby always wanted and that you were constantly reaching for. It’s those things that make the best gifts. They’re not your store-bought typical blanket, cute outfit or infant shoes. Here’s my list of items I always reach for when buying for expecting parents!
Pro tip: Always double check seasonal sizing. There is nothing worse than getting clothes that are the wrong size for the season i.e. short sleeved clothes when it’ll be winter. I promise you it means way more to the parents when you’ve thought about that.
Here’s what you can expect from me in your baby shower gift, sorry to spoil the surprise for any of my friends who get pregnant!
